HOW TO EFFECTIVELY RESPOND TO THE CHALLENGES OF THE FUTURE WHEN THE PAST IS TRYING TO DESTROY YOU?
The question that millions of Ukrainians have faced because of the Russian war.
The question that may suddenly face millions of people in other countries in the twenty-first century.
Democracies are considering the opportunities and threats that digital technologies may bring to humanity in the future.
Dictatorships and terrorists use digital — and any — technology to wage wars of conquest and genocide, just as they did tens, hundreds, or thousands of years ago.
Everything still depends on humans.
We propose to realize the experience of the digital era, where children assemble military drones after school, gamers join the army, online tools become the only means of psychological assistance for millions of refugees, and the life and freedom of Ukrainians in the Russian-occupied territories often depend on cybersecurity. This digital era has come for the whole of Ukraine on February 24, 2022 (whereas Russian aggression against Ukraine began in 2014, with the occupation of Crimea and parts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions).
What can we learn from this to better understand our relations with technology - and with people? We invite you to discuss this at the International Online Forum on Cyberpsychology "Future With Ukraine 2025".
